Mike Couch's blown '32
Written by D Hart

Mike Couch appeared on the Meltdown scene kind of out-of-the-blue a couple of seasons ago.  His distinctive roadster - with a removable hardtop, modified from a coupe roof - was running 14's right from the off, much to the amazement of those seasoned Meltdowners who had been stuck in the 15's & 16's for donkeys.  Steady development of the flattie - a 265ci French block - has seen Mike emerge as the racer most likely to break Jim Turnbull's 12.7 second record.  A 13.2 @ 99mph is his best so far, but keep your eye on the gossip column here on flatheadmeltdown.com as we've started to hear things about a Hilborn set-up, and possible even methanol?

This car is one to watch for sure, just don't mention losing to Becky at the HRD's in '08!
